The Post Pentecost Christian Focus

BEFORE PENTECOST (Year B.C., Old Testament, 3 ½ years of Jesus Ministry)

AFTER PENTECOST (Year A.D., New Testament, After the Resurrection)

BC) The Holy Spirit is present to only a selected few.
AD) the Holy Spirit was given and available for/to all (Acts 2:17-18).

BC) Community is merely about the work of the spirit in the hearts and minds of individuals.
AD) Church is a community of the spirit.

BC) God’s people is focus only on one ethnic group-the Israelites.
AD) The Church (God’s people) is for everyone, not one ethnic group-Gentiles and Israelites together.

BC) Age of Law of Moses (Example, The Ten Commandments); Logic (knowledge) is about Good and Evil (Right and Wrong)
AD) Age of Grace (Father's Love, Son's Grace, Holy Spirit's Fellowship); Logic (wisdom) is about Truth

BC) Message focus is the KINGDOM OF GOD.
AD) Message focus is JESUS CHRIST (Passion, Death and Resurrection).

BC) We are asked to enter INTO the Kingdom of God.
AD) We are now CITIZENS of the Kingdom of God.

BC) The Gospel message of the kingdom unites the apostles and believers.
AD) The Holy Spirit is the bond and binding force for all Christians.

BC) We live and work according to good AND evil, NOT according to good OR evil (right and/or wrong).
AD) We live and work by the power of the Holy Spirit (i.e. by the truth--- no error, accurate, complete).
