Theology of the Body

Remember the time when the pedal didn’t hit the metal?

Genesis chapter 2 verse 25: Truth
“25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame."

It meant that they are (we are) in their (in our) original, natural, pure, unblemished state- complete, accurate and no-error.

Genesis chapter 3 verse 7: Deception
“7 At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.”

After the fall they (us) became unoriginal, unnatural, impure, blemished- incomplete, inaccurate and with error.

The pedal hits the metal.

For many of us the only relationship a woman and a man can have is based on lust. But that was never the design God intended for both sexes to have. The sexual relationship is designed from the very beginning to be based only on love. Which means that a man’s and a woman’s relationships (ours) can go beyond lust. This is the reality that most marriages know yet not.

For a series of lectures on these issues, I invite you to the EWTN Specials entitled “Created & Redeemed”. Here Christopher West explains a lot the true meaning of our sexuality and our body. He said, “Christ didn’t came to give us a long list of rules (legalism); rather, He came that we could have new life of authentic liberty and experience true freedom. That true freedom means freedom from internal constraint that keeps us from choosing what is good.”

We were driven out of our home, but in Christ we can all go back HOME!
